A symbol of our times, the smiley face is as artificial as it is ubiquitous.
Are we losing our ability to discern between that which is superficial and that which is real?
This installation was part of the 'Surface' exhibition at the Tweed River Art Gallery. The opening was last night. (20th November 2009)
Hi Jane, found your site...read a bit...see you're looking at the superficial...like the face, it sits on top...and it's easy to see. But still real. Easy. The path of least resistance beckons. Always. "If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there"- George Harrison. Love, Geoffrey xx
